WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY
Real Stories From Our Customers

Gerrie De Beer,
Engineering Manager at Anzco Foods
At ANZCO Foods Waitara, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with New Plymouth Engineering for over 20 years.
Throughout this time, they have consistently delivered high-quality service across a broad spectrum of engineering disciplines. Their support has spanned a wide range of industrial fabrication and design projects, including structural engineering and industrial refrigeration.
Every job has been completed to an exceptional standard, fully compliant with New Zealand regulations and codes. Their welding expertise ensures all work is both durable and regulation compliant. New Plymouth Engineering manages the majority of our mechanical on-call breakdowns, general maintenance, fabrication, machining, shift cover, and CAD design requirements. A recent standout project was their completion of a full 3D scan and digital model of our entire site—both internal and external. This has significantly improved our accuracy in measurement and planning for future developments.
The team is consistently reliable, punctual, and easy to work with. Their ability to manage projects from initial scoping through to design, execution, and commissioning truly makes them a one-stop shop for all our engineering needs. Some of the major projects they’ve completed for us include:
-
Ammonia engine room upgrade
-
Ammonia freezer tunnel installation
-
Design and installation of new ammonia refrigeration evaporator structures
-
Installation of various food production conveyor belts
-
Smoke Houses installations
-
EPS Pannel walls and doors Installation.
-
300m ammonia-to-glycol pipeline upgrade, including evaporators and valves for six production/storage rooms
-
Forklift building design, fabrication, and installation

Glen Spencer,
Project Manager
Excel Refrigeration has engaged NPE on various large projects. Across Ammonia and CO2 systems where pipework/supports/frames/etc require PECPR and PN19 compliance. As well as chilled water and glycol systems.
Their workmanship, compliance documentation quality and ability to provide input to work in progress challenges that arise is excellent.

-
Do you offer design services?Yes, we are able to assist you with design by turning your ideas into CAD models and document them by creating detailed fabrication drawings and then produce bill of materials to assist you with procurement.
-
Do you do design & drawings without the fabrication?Yes, we are happy to provide standalone design services, may it be process and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), Site plan layouts, structural detailing, piping design and isometric drawings or General arrangements.
-
What design software do you use?We primarily utilize Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Solidworks, MathCAD, Bentley AutoPIPE.
-

-
Do you offer in house machining services?Yes, we offer machining services, we have a CNC mill, CNC lathe, broaching press, drill presses, as well as manual machines. Please feel free to get in touch today and request a quote.
-
What types of welding are you able to do?We can weld most types of metals and are qualified to ASME Section IX and AS3992. We are proficient in GTAW, FCAW, GMAW and SMAW welding processes.
-
What type of projects do you handle?Custom metal fabrication, structural Steel work, pipe fabrication, repairs, residential house steel beams, mechanical maintenance.
-
What is piping stress analysis? In order to guarantee the safety, dependability, and adherence to industry standards of piping systems, pipe stress analysis is an essential step in their design and operation. It entails assessing the loads, displacements, and stresses that a piping system experiences as a result of several variables, including weight, thermal expansion, seismic, internal pressure, and external forces.

What is 3D laser scanning?3D laser scanning utilizes LiDAR technology to precisely capture the three-dimensional data of a structure or site. LiDAR, which stands for Light Detection and Ranging, operates by emitting light as a pulsed laser to measure distances to a target. When these laser pulses bounce back to the scanner, the distances are recorded, mapping the spatial geometry of the area. This process collects millions of measurement points, each with x, y, and z coordinates, forming what is known as a point cloud. The intricacy of these data points allows for exact measurements between any two points within the point cloud. This data can then be converted into 2D CAD drawings or 3D BIM models, which are invaluable for construction and engineering projects.
